The vision of EcoArt to promote a sustainable life on earth provides a meaningful focus for artists to express their commitment to the environment. In this exhibition the public can see a great diversity of styles, symbols, and media through which artists are addressing environmental concerns.
Generally, my work has moved along two paths. On one, abstracted nature images become a focus for meditation to evoke transcendent dimensions of natural phenomena. Along a different path, images are used to inspire resistance to current policies: political posters calling attention to our abuse of nature.
In this triptych the two paths merge. Moving from left to right: the emergence of natural forms; the middle panel: the formation of mountainous terrain; the far right panel, the unchecked pollution assault. The far right panel of the triptych was then transformed into a graphic poster about global warming, printed for separate distribution.
